Eva Cassidy – 30 Years The Singing Is Far Away

Eva Cassidy was born on February 2, 1963, died on November 2, 1996. (at the age of 33). She hates school, dresses, and aggressive driving; loves drawing, sculpting, playing guitar and singing. You can find more information here.

She learned guitar from her father, Hugh Cassidy, from a very young age, and played guitar in the family band with her father (bass) and older brother Donny (violin). She is a natural genius at singing harmony. Children who listen to music on the radio are good at singing along to the tune, and Eva always sings the chorus perfectly – no matter how high or low the chorus is!

Record companies and even clubs refused to work with her because Eva only wanted to sing what she liked, refusing to be classified as a certain type of music. When singing demos, she always samples a Blues song, a Jazz song, a Pop song, some strange Celtic folk song, and even Gospel.

Eva Cassidy doesn’t like to make a lot of money (she didn’t have a bank account until she was 30 – 1993) and despite her excellent singing voice, she likes to be a backup vocalist and doesn’t like appearing in front of crowds. Her childhood dream was to sing backup for Steve Wonder.

In early 1996, she had hip pain. Eva Cassidy thought it was the result of painting a mural three days in a row for a high school in Annapolis, where she moved from DC. Unexpectedly, the autopsy showed that she had bone cancer. Eva didn’t have insurance, so her singer/songwriter friends did a few performances to earn hospital bills for her.

She was admitted to John Hopkins Hospital in the spring of 1996. Many friends came to visit and give flowers. Unable to meet everyone, she asked to buy a pile of paper and brushes to keep in the hospital hallway. People sat around drawing in the hallway. She hung all these pictures in the hospital room, as if she had met her friends.

In September 1996, a tribute concert was held. Eva was very weak, but she also came. No one expected her to have to perform anything heavy, everything was properly arranged for her to perform a simple duet with her singing partner Chuck Brown. But, with a mysterious power, she played the guitar and sang “What a wonderful world” for her parents. This was also the last time Eva performed in public. She passed away in November 1996, just over 33 years old, bewildering everyone who had ever heard this unique voice, even if it was the first time hearing her aft er her death.

Eva Cassidy only released two CDs (The Other Side and Live at Blues Alley), Her songs published after her death include three number one hits in the UK, selling more than 10 million records. Her music is also in the top 10 best sellers in Australia, Austria, Sweden, Norway and Switzerland.

Believe me she is smiling somewhere, and still holding the guitar and singing gently.

The Absolute Sound Collection (TAS) 1996-2019

The Absolute Sound Collection (TAS) 1996-2019

If you are an audiophile, you’ve probably heard of the legendary disk set TAS.

The Absolute Sound Collection (TAS) 1996-2019

The Absolute Sound Collection includes 21 album. Starting in 1996, one album of TAS was released every year, including recording the best audiophile recordings of the year of the world’s leading recording brands such as Sheffield Lab, Dynamic, North Star, Linn, Venus, Concord, Stockfisch … Each track in each album is a masterpiece, so each CD in the TAS set is also a masterpiece. That is not the case, every version of TAS released every year has a statement full of confidence: Challenging the most fastidious ears.

All the most talented artists are present in these TAS albums. How can I resist Carol Kidd’s sweet appeal in “When I dream”, how can I not beat my feet and smile when I hear Gila singing with the baby in “Clouds in the sky”. And I promise that your heartbeat will accelerate with every strong beat of the Earth Dancer group in “Genesis”. Then what else? Bright melodious melody with Luis Conte’s hilarious whistling in “El Real de Hielo (Danzon)”, Silvia Droste’s soft vocals in “Besame Mucho” or Tiny Harvest’s relieved piano in “Beautiful Day “. And with the excellent recording quality, all of their performances were so real, I was shocked when I was sitting on the night listening to TAS 1998, the end of track 6, all quiet and sudden. Naturally, there is a deep whisper asking: “What color is the wind, daddy?”, taking a few seconds of divination to realize that it’s just Jack Jones showing “Color Of The Wind”.

Carol Kidd – When I Dream
Earth Dancer – Genesis
El Real de Hielo (Danzon) – Luis Conte
Jack Jones – Color of the Wind
Silvia Droste – Besame Mucho
Tiny Harvest – Beautiful Day

It is very difficult to classify the genre specifically for these albums. In an album, it always includes songs from a variety of genres, ranging from Classic, Opera, Vocal Jazz, Instrument Jazz, to New Age. And one thing that can be proud of our Jazz enthusiasts is that the proportion of Jazz works in these albums always accounts for 7-8 October. You can see many songs like Lovesong or light music like Secret Garden, even remixed, mixed and recorded soundtrack with different quality like Besame Mucho, Have I told you lately, Vincent, Tango, Nocturne 2 (Chopin), Brave heart theme … You will feel the difference very clearly when you hear the high-pitched sounds of Tenor (Male High), Soprano (Female High) or hear the deep but very strong bass sound , the vibration of the sound when listening to saxophone, trumpet or female vocal, even the sound of a piano, breathing, gasping sounds very well and with many New Age songs it feels like I was sucked into that. the world of that song …

Enjoy The absolute sound collection, and trust me, then you’ll regret why you didn’t know this set earlier!!!
