Jazz Side of the Moon was released in 2008 on the Chesky record label, with SACD 2 & 5 Channel. The recording itself is certainly audiophile quality, and is superior to standard industry recordings. The stereo imaging of the recording is a work of art in itself, and the clarity of the instruments is phenomenal.
In this album, Sam Yahel (hammond b3 organ), Seamus Blake (tenor sax), Ari Hoenig (drums), and Mike Moreno (guitar) pay homage to the Pink Floyd classic with an all instrumental version of Dark Side of the Moon. It is extremely well done and the musicians play tastefully and with great care and skill.
Jazz Side of the Moon is a joy to listen to – one of the best recordings to date. Highly recommended! Don’t hesitate to pick it up – even if you aren’t a Pink Floyd fan.
